Ten days, three mountain ranges, one jacket and a crew of six. When Arcadia briefed us on their launch film, the schedule was the first thing we had to design around. Here's what we learned.
Plan the light, not the locations
We built the schedule around blue hour and sunrise, then chose locations that could be reached in time for both. Mid-day was for travel, stills and backups. It meant 3am starts — and footage that looks like it cost ten times more.
The most creative decisions in production are made with a spreadsheet, months before the camera rolls.
Shoot once, publish forty times
Every set-up was captured for the hero film, a vertical social cut and stills at the same time. One production fed the launch film, forty social edits and a full photo library for e-commerce.
